I tried posting this earlier, so if this is a duplicate post, I apologize. I suffered a life threatening allergy to insulin that caused every organ to begin to fail. Between myself and a team of holistic and integrative doctors, herbalists, NDs, and researchers we have literally searched the world looking for nutrition, herbs, essential oils, probiotics, enzymes, emotional therapies, healing foods like bone broths and fermented foods, chiropractic, acupuncture, and muscle testing of multiple kinds, and more. What we have achieved is that all organs are improving (and I have saved all of them!) with the exception of the digestive system which seems to have made very little progress in 3 full years of doing everything under the sun. I actually work as a personal assistant for the head of this medical team so I get very close monitoring. I have gone from being in bed to moving across the country and working almost full time so there has been progress. Most things that could help I either have violent allergies to or they spike my blood sugar uncontrollably. I have leaky gut to a degree where I can only eat 3 foods without horrific reaction. I live on a highly customized nutritional supplement program that includes enzymes and probiotics.

I have seen the clay reverse an ulcer for me. It also is the most effective thing I have ever found to stop allergic reactions as they are occurring. I take 1 tsp 30 minutes after each meal and just before bed. Despite doing more and more things right and coming to understand my body/symptoms more and more not any point have I been able to lessen a food allergy or add a food. Its been 3 years of constantly having to eliminate one food, herb, etc at a time and never add them back. Once I develop a reaction there seems to be no reversing it. A bite is enough to trigger severe consequences. Have there been any observations or stories of using the clay (and if so, how?) with severe food allergies? Does it just block the reaction or can it actually with extended use help the body to stop responding to food as an allergen?

Greetings, Kerri:

Yours is a tough situation, I'm sorry that you've had to endure such a journey.

The problem here is immune system modulation. Clay can help to reverse food sensitivities. The trick is to keep the immune system in a calmed state for a very extended period of time. My experience with such severe reactions is limited (it's rare), but from my experience:

*** a reaction to any sensitivity can reverse progress as if none has been made

*** it can take one to three years for the immune system to really stabilize

*** there can be co-factors that influence the ability to recover, some of which I am aware of, but more may exist:

a) soft tissue pH must be normalized. Conditions such as aenoeric energy conversion in muscles contribute to excessive acid waste release and build up. This must be nuetralized. With your level of sensitivity, it cannot be done with foods, so it must be done with modified drinking waters

b) You need to test your stomach HCL production, and if possible, bile production. Reduced HCL production in the stomach, or lack of bile almost guarantees eventual immune system issues. Corrective therapy must be determined based on what, if anything, you can tolerate.

"*** a reaction to any sensitivity can reverse progress as if none has been made" -- you can say that again! I have seen this over and over again. With that being said - after I read Upon A Clay Tablet I changed to using 1 tsp of the Clay 1 hour before meals and have been able to reduce or stop the severity of the reactions from ever occurring. This gives me some hope that with continued use maybe I can lower the reactions to where the gut can begin repairing. I can literally tell when I "run out of clay" as digestive distress begins again. I also am taking at least 1 tsp later in the evening.

on a) I am assuming you have written at length about this already? Where can I find this information?

b) I am already using extra HCL and Bile supplementation as we know those are way too low. I have been through a lot of enzyme types and tolerate a few very well.

Hi Kerri:

It is hard to write at length on this topic, because it is a highly individualized topic. What works for one person sends another over a cliff. I am working on a digestive system recovery program combined with a complete detox protocol, but the work is very slow going due to vast differences in individual needs and tolerances.

One thing to look into if you haven't already: Massive pancreatic enzyme use (reference Dr. Nicholas Gonzalez' work).

I may also suggest that you look into medical grade ozone insufflation (rectal). How an individual tolerates this therapy really gives a good indiciation of liver function and the body's natural oxidation/antioxidant status (Phase 1 and Phase 2 detoxification).

Low HCL production usually directly equates to difficulties assimilating minerals. I suggest you try to supplement with a complete mineral solution that is already pre-ionized. The best that I have found for this purpose is nine times roasted bamboo salt.

To use it, you must dissolve it on the tongue so that the metal ions combine with metalloproteins. Then wash it down with a bit of water. Watch for sulfur detox reactions, as the salt absorbs sulfur from the bamboo stalks during production.
